Birthday-Filled Weekend

Last weekend saw two of my friends turned a year older: Eunice and Octa. Such a coincidence that the only Virginians among my close friends have birthdays within hours of each other. Happy Birthday Eunice!Eunice on the fourteenth and Sunday the fifteenth was Octa's day. Naturally, we tried to plan some kind of special celebration that would be special for both of them while including each of them while we're doing the other's.

So here's the plan: On Saturday the fourteenth, we went to Café Asia in Washington, DC to have dinner with her. Well, all twelve of us and her (^_^). Myra and I were planning to arrive much earlier so that we can ask the restaurant to keep the cake in their fridge. But it turned out we made it there just on time. Luckily, we beat Eunice & Octa by a few seconds. Yeah. I even tried to make them take the long way when they asked for directions taking the metro, but it turned out they're getting smarter, hahaha, so it was really pure luck that they didn't get to the restaurant before we did.

The food was good, the company was better, the cake was sublime :) We got her the Neil's Hat Trick from our official gourmandises supplier: cakelove. Octa's Birthday CupcakesSo we did the happy-birthday-singing, wish-making, candle-blowing, cake-cutting, and filling ourselves with sugar and cream. The night is young and so are we (or some of us still, hahaha).

On to the next destination: K Street Lounge. To Octa, we were there celebrating Eunice's birthday because according to Myra and Devmann she wanted to party at K Street. 'Met Ulang Taun Ta!I like it there and it was such a nice group of people. We had fun, we even danced! and I think Eunice and I drank too much. Just a tad bit too much, hehehe. Let's see: Lemon Drop, Tequila, Tequila Sunrise, Washington Apple, French Martini. See? Not that many and most of them... okay, okay, all of them were girlie drinks anyway. I don't know, I think it was the humongous portion of the gway teo that did it.

It's Sunday! Happy Birthday Octa! Sorry for making you gulp that shotglass of Bailey's. I wanted to put milk in it, but the bartender didn't have any, so... at least I tried *grin* We then all left the club, supposedly going home. Oh, our number kinda swelled a bit with Andrew & Patrice joining us afterwards. Well, as we were walking home, we decided to hang at a cafe for a bit to wind down, or so we made Octa think. Hehehe, probably you suspected it already, didn't you Octa?
Too old for this
It was almost one a.m., DC is not known for its after-hours cafe scene and we kinda needed a spot that can accomodate all fifteen of us. Au Pied Bistro it was then. There, Myra, Nia, Devmann, and I came in last with Octa's wishes-adorned cupcakes. We brought in the candle-lit cupcakes and everybody sang Happy Birthday. The bistro was empty so it was nice, felt like it was our own place. Oh? Why was Devmann with us? 'Twas because I needed him to drive. The moment I got out of the car I was like, "Uh oh, I don't feel so well." And so the alcohol poisoning started to kick in.

While everybody was chitchatting at the cafe, I was semi-permanently passing out on my chair *oops* I can't believe it. I felt so bad, hehehe.. Luckily I didn't forget to pay, LOL. But no hangover when I woke, so it was all good.

Happy Birthday Octa and Eunice!
