Berkeley Springs, West Virginia

Post Lunch PoseAgus - I think - first came up with the idea of going to Berkeley Springs for a spa day. LOL. Agus.... of all people, I never would've expected that.

So there we went to this little town known as the budget-friendly spa resort in the DC area. I was expecting onsen-style hot springs, where we all would sit in a pool of fresh hot water in the mountains. But turns out that it was more like a dip in the bath tub. They did channel the water fresh from the hot springs though and value wise that was a pretty good deal for a massage and hot soak. But will I come back? Hmm... we'll see.

Regardless of the actual spa experience though, it was a nice weekend with the guys (and girls too). We played ping pong until 2 in the morning when someone who doesn't eat much (but often) squeaked, "I'm hungry." *grin* Don't hit me Pat... I was talking about Nia... hehehe and if by any chance Nia is reading this blog too, just replace your name with Patrice's okay? So there were we, Benny, Nia, Patrice, and me in my car plus Andrew, Agus, Devmann, and Hadi in Henry's car. Where did we go? Where else but the dependable Golden Arch? Trans fat at the break of dawn under flourescent lights at the parking lot. Nothing could beat that surely?

DC by Night

The National Monument and its reflection on the Reflecting PoolWe were walking back from the Alexandria Waterfront to our car. As we made the third U turn in Old Town trying to get on the Interstate, we were debating on what to do next. I blurted out the idea of going to the Lincoln Memorial to take same pictures and get fascinated by the luminous alabaster monuments. Who knew the guys would be up for it? So there we went, the Lincoln Memorial at 11PM.
Midnight Photo Sessions  The definition of a snapshot
It was a really nice night, clear sky and the weather was not too hot. And I have always thought that these alabaster monuments look best at night when they're illuminated, rendering the "glowing" quality to them. The view of the shiny National Monument under the moon is very DC for me. When I move out of DC, that's gonna be one of the images that I will always associate the city with.

Now to close the post, I give you the Angels. This is what happened when you put in lack of sleep, exhaustion, and minor dehydration together with modelling aspirations.

Fireworks over Alexandria

FireworksOK... it's about time that I start blogging again.

Here's one of the fireworks we saw in Alexandria on June 17, 2006. Wei-zhe's friends told us about it so we went there. And up to this day, we have no idea what exactly was the fireworks about, hahaha. I asked to one of the shopkeepers and she knew about it in the vaguest way... something to do with celebrating a ship's arrival. Anybody knows about this event?
