It's amazing that South African Jacob Zuma, ex-Deputy President and possible presidential candidate, manages to retain his popularity amid the rape accusation and that unbelievably idiotic remark about protecting oneself against HIV.
As mentioned on BBC News, Mr. Zuma denied rape but admitted to consensual sex. At his cross-questioning, he also testified that he did not use a condom during the encounter despite the knowledge of the woman's HIV-positive status. He added that he left his bedroom after the sexual encounter to have a shower because this "would minimize the risk of contracting the virus [HIV]."
